Frequently asked questions about guided geology hikes in the Swiss Alps

FAQ

How difficult are your hikes?

Our hike difficulty is not based on distance alone.
We consider terrain conditions, elevation gain, and duration.

Hikes are rated as easy, moderate, or hard.

What should I bring on a hike in the Swiss Alps?

Please bring comfortable hiking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, water, and some snacks. A small backpack, sun protection, and a rain jacket are also recommended.

⭐️ Geotrekkerz tip: an extra pair of socks in your backpack is always a good idea. Alpine trails occasionally mean stepping through a stream, and dry socks afterwards feel wonderful.

Do I need prior geology knowledge?

No. Our hikes are designed for curious beginners and nature enthusiasts.

Why are there only a few difficult hikes?

Geotrekkerz focuses on experience, not performance.
Our hikes are designed to allow time for observation, learning, and enjoying the landscape.

How do I choose the right hike?

Check the difficulty level, duration, and elevation gain.
Also consider your current fitness level and what kind of experience you are looking for.
